Lamborghini must be one of the last premium car manufacturers to get on the SUV industry segment. Their 2018 Lamborghini Urus is supposed to take on different premium SUVs, like the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche Cayenne. To create up for the late arrival of this SUV, Lamborghini decided to put in more than one unexpected feature and demonstrate their modern attitude towards vehicle production.
The name Urus may possibly raise a few brows here and there, so a short description of the name’s origin might be in place. The urus, also known as aurochs, was a giant, ancient ancestor of our recent day cow, evaluating around 1500 pounds (680 kgs). Thus, it is easy to see why Lamborghini, with their raging bull logo, might adopt the magnificent ancient aurochs to symbolize their biggest and heaviest vehicle yet.

2018 Lamborghini Urus Exterior design
For the time being, all we realize about the Urus is what we have observed on the concept, but that certainly appears promising. The final production model will be unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show, therefore until then the concept is what we’ll have to produce do with.
A very important factor that is especially striking about the concept car is how much it really appears like a final generation vehicle. Another design aspect is that it is distinctively a Lamborghini, unlike the first Lambo test at the SUV. That certain offered only 328 units and the “weird” non-Lambo appearance is seen as the greatest instigator thereof.
The 2012 Lamborghini Urus concept starts off with three giant air ports on the front: two more angular types on the side and a much larger one in the middle. On top of that are some cat-eye formed headlights and some angular creases on the hood.
2018 Lamborghini Urus side and rear
Around the side the biggest eye catcher are the giant wheels and their relation towards the vehicle. The large wheels have a surprisingly big place between the wheel arches, particularly with the rear wheels. It’s simple enough to see an hostile bull sitting in a stance waiting to charge. Also, the deep, angular creases keep on on the side, with on each side a large air intake. Furthermore, the windows and roofline advance downwards to the rear while the lower part improvements upwards.
The rear of the 2018 Lamborghini Urus concept is actually just as dazzling as the different factors, with a nearly horizontal rear window and the large, large tires stuffed from the bumper. Four exhausts as a whole, all with the angular edges Lamborghini loves therefore much, two on each side of the car. The taillights shell around the trunklid and keep on towards the middle where a curly signing of the brand name is positioned.
2018 Lamborghini Urus Interior design
The concept’s interior is unfortuitously not as production-ready as the vehicle’s exterior. A very important factor that is sure about the interior is that it will simply present room for four people instead of five. That does mean the two rear seats will soon be full-sized chairs like the front chairs, instead of a rear counter and will improve the passengers ease by miles. Lamborghini it self described passenger transport in the Urus as “wearing a perfectly made-to-measure suit&rdquo ;.That does noise rather engaging!
Yet another thing about the 2018 Lamborghini Urus interior that we are able to expect is something about the place where normally the fifth passenger place is, the middle part in the back seats. With the passenger position now being missing, a space is available for such things as cupholders and rear seat leisure functions. We certainly assume USB-ports and personal infotainment buttons to be featured there. Probably also some air-con ports for the freshest, cleanest air.
In the dashboard place we are able to make sure that Lamborghini brings a wrap-around dash with some different shade solutions for choice. Furthermore, we assume premium noise techniques, interior lighting plans and the most ergonomic tyre possible. We also assume heated, ventilated and caressing chairs for all passengers.
Overall, the 2018 Lamborghini Urus is going to be an SUV that is as relaxed to drive as to be pushed in.
2018 Lamborghini Urus Engine specs
The exterior and interior both look great and makes us question a lot more about the other car specs. However, the engine is truly the most confusing part about the 2018 Urus.
First of all, the Urus will be the first Lambo to ever feature a turbocharged engine, but Lamborghini’s plans don’t stop there. Before the 2018 Urus is here good and well, the company’s research and development executive already hinted plainly that the Urus may come as a plug-in hybrid. His exact words? “The PHEV system is currently perfect for packaging in an SUV platform.” This might make the Urus the first hybrid Lamborghini ever.
These are big things for a premium car manufacturer to accomplish. Yet, in addition, it proves to be necessary if Lamborghini wants their SUV to rotate along in the game, now around. The other premium manufacturers like Porsche, Bentley and Jaguar are all doing their part and speak to the more sustainable parts of the auto world too.
Another big thing is that the 2018 Lamborghini Urus won’t be powered by the naturally aspirated V10 or V12 that are usual. Instead, a twin-turbocharged V8 engine will be used, as confirmed by CEO Stephan Winkelmann and Research and Development boss Maurizio Reggiani. This V8 will be a 4.0 liter one and was created specifically for the Urus. In the past Lamborghini borrowed an engine from Audi, which also has a 4.0 liter V8, but it had been insisted that this will not be the same engine in the Urus. However, that engine might be good for comparison, as it makes 560 horsepower. We expect the Urus V8 engine to top that.
2018 Lamborghini Urus Tech specs
The 2018 Lamborghini Urus concept from 2012 featured some tech stuff, such as shifting paddles. Also, via the center console or buttons on the steering wheel indicators, headlights and windshield wipers were operable. Behind the steering wheel sat a customizable TFT digital cluster and the center console offered navigation, entertainment and climate control. The rear featured another infotainment screen. Every one of these features are expected to be present on the 2018 Urus as well.
Furthermore, we expect all the latest semi-autonomous features, such as Lane Keeping Assist, Autonomous Braking, Rear Traffic Alert, Park Assist and Valet function.
More info on tech specs can be found closer to the car’s sale date.
